Is it okay to store coffee beans in the freezer?
mari asked:
I don't drink coffee that much, but I buy whole beans and grind them when I make a fresh pot of coffee. Will keeping them in the freezer help them stay fresh, or will it have the opposite effect?

Yes, keeping them in the freezer will keep them fresher. The problem is that if you take them out and put them back a few times, frost forms on them, then evaporates, then forms again, and that takes a lot out of them.
So the way to do it is to wrap them up in small quantities and take out just what you’ll use in a week or so, not taking the big bag out of the freezer, pouring some out, and putting it back. Otherwise keeping them in the fridge is better.

Freezer of fridge is ok but the beans should be stored in air tight container.
They will tend to absorb odors.
